I have revised and finalized dates and times for most events coming up. There are still some venues, times, and events that may be changed, but for the most part, we will abide by the attached calendars. Please sign-up to receive text messages by clicking HERE. This allows me to inform you of changes to the schedule/calendar.
Spring ball is thriving and we are looking really well. Please keep in mind that the Spring Fundraiser can be used to pay for ALL out-of-pocket expenses. These costs include: $15 for 7v7, $40 for Summer Conditioning, $175 for 8-Day Padded Camp, $83 for Player Pack (mouth-guard, game sox, padded girdle, short & shirt), $36 for Helmet reconditioning and paint. ($334 not including 7v7 tourneys)
Save the date: May 15 from 230-430P Concussion Testing for all new student-athletes, incoming sophs and seniors. BHS will also be conducting physicals from 5-7P. We will do this in lieu of Spring Ball Practice. The required UHSAA Physical Form is attached below. Parents MUST complete the first portion of the form.
Our first 7v7 is at Bear River High School on May 30. We are taking three teams to compete: Varsity, JV, and a Soph team. Bus leaves BHS @230P. Tourney starts @4P. Waiver and $15 due May 29!
The WSU 7v7 is on Saturday, June 2. We are only allowed to bring one Varsity Team. The coaches will invite those players who will represent us for this tourney. Waiver and $25 due June 1.
We will be attending another JV and Soph 7v7 at the Ogden Sports Complex in June. Stay tuned for date and time.
Summer Conditioning will run EVERY Mon, Tues, and Thurs throughout the summer. I expect players to be at every session throughout the summer unless they are out of town. We must train to prevent injury and prepare for the rigors of this collision sport.
Our 8-Day Padded Camp begins July 11 and ends July 20. I highly encourage everyone to participate in this camp because we will put most of our scheme in at this time. We will utilize this camp to springboard us into official start date beginning July 30 this year.
Players are required to attend all things football beginning July 30. UHSAA rules are in full effect at that time as well.
All student-athletes MUST be academically eligible at the end of 4th Quarter in order to participate in ANYTHING we do in the summer. To be eligible, all current high school student-athletes at BHS MUST have at least a 2.0 GPA in 4th Quarter (not CUM GPA), cannot have more than one (1) F, and must be at or below 0.75 Attendance Credit Loss (ACL). Current 8th & 9th Grade student-athletes must have at least a 2.0 GPA in 4th Quarter and cannot have more than one (1) F to be academically eligible.
I need to know if you are close to not meeting these expectations BEFORE school gets out on May 25th! We have the ability to offer remediation during Summer School, but this begins in June. I will need to ensure you are signed up correctly for this to occur. You will not be able to participate in anything we do during the summer until you become eligible.
Lastly, Bonneville Football supports TH Bell and South Ogden Junior Highs in the development of their football programs. Bonneville also recognizes the possibility of 9th graders desiring to play at the high school level. We recommend that you talk with your junior high coaches and parents to determine what is best for you as a student and as an athlete. This is a parent/player decision and we support that choice. We look forward to all athletes continuing their football future with Bonneville High School. If there are further questions about this, do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your to-be 9th grader playing up at: firstname.lastname@example.org
